SIRIM QAS International has been accredited by the the United Nations Framework Convention for Climate Change (UNFCCC) as a Designated Operational Entity (DOE) to provide validation and verification/certification of Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) projects.

SIRIM QAS International is accredited for validation as well as verification and certification of CDM projects for the following sectoral scopes:

No 1. Energy industries (renewable - / non-renewable sources)
No 2. Energy distribution
No 3. Energy demand
No 4. Manufacturing industries
No 13. Waste handling and disposal

SIRIM QAS International is already providing validation and verification services for CDM projects undertaken in Malaysia as well as in neighbouring countries.
