Adventure tourism is growing in prominence worldwide, including in Malaysia. Providers are accountable for people’s safety, and the risks shall be managed effectively. ISO 21101:2014 standard is the requirements of a safety management system for adventure tourism activity providers. This standard promotes a more systematic approach to managing safety in adventure activities. In addition, it is to help providers to conduct their adventure tourism activities in a secure and safe environment, avoiding incidents and consequently increasing the participants’ satisfaction and confidence by meeting their safety expectations.
