Dear Valued Customer,
As part of our continuous effort to ensure compliance of imported product and safety of consumers, we are pleased to introduce the Special Approval (SA) and Clearance Letter (CL); a document that represents both Special Approval and import permit for personal application (Special Approval application under individual name).
Starting from 3rd April 2020 onwards, any individual applicants who are importing communication, multimedia, and hybrid products (non-communication product that is integrated with wireless features such as WiFi and Bluetooth) are encouraged to apply for Special Approval and import permit electronically through our online system, eComM.
Please submit your application via INDIVIDUAL APPLICATION module in e-ComM, instead of manual submission (either over the counter or through email submission).
Through this online submission, applicant will receive the Special Approval (SA) and Clearance Letter (CL) within 24 hours, provided that adequate documents are submitted through the online system. The SA and CL indicates grant of Special Approval as well as import permit hence will enable applicants to make product clearance.
So as to encourage the import or purchase of certified product and through improvement to our internal processes, SIRIM QAS International is pleased to announce a substantial fee reduction for personal application, by which the new fee is set according to the product category and is divided into 2 Tiers as follows:
Kindly note that full implementation of Special Approval (SA) and Clearance Letter (CL) application via eComM will officially commence starting 5th May 2020, whereby application via manual submission or email or walk-in will no longer be accepted.
All payments for SA and CL application can be made through our Central Payment module in eComM, where we accept FPX, credit card and prepaid payment methods.
