KUALA LUMPUR (Dec 13): SIRIM Bhd’s unit SIRIM QAS International has introduced the IQNet SR10 Social Responsibility Certification.
In a statement on Tuesday (Dec 13), the testing, inspection and certification provider said the IQNet SR10 certification scheme enables a company to demonstrate their adherence to such measures by tapping into a number of management, commercial and socio- environmental advantages.
It said the certification scheme at the same time allows the organisation to demonstrate commitment towards sustainability, increases sources of funding, helps cement the positive image of the organisation, and reduces costs through efficient management of resources.
SIRIM Bhd president and group chief executive Datuk Indera Dr Ahmad Sabirin Arshad said the IQNet SR10 certification enables organisations to play a role in meeting Malaysia’s commitment to the 17 Sustainable Development Goals under the United Nations’ 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
“The IQNET SR10 provides independent assurance and confidence that an organisation’s social responsibility management system has been effectively implemented.
“This scheme creates a higher level of trust and credibility to organisation initiatives. The certification will show that the organisation adopts a systematic and transparent management system.
“This scheme signifies that organisations care for their employees’ welfare, care for the environment, care for the community, and care for good governance,” he said.
SIRIM QAS International is the first certification body in Southeast Asia to offer IQNet SR10 certification, which further showcases the organisation’s capabilities in providing environmental, social and governance (ESG) related certification.
IQNet partners’ worldwide certification activities include over 360,000 valid management system certificates issued globally.
